My mom and I have a tradition: throughout the year; we save up our recyclables and cash in the funds to treat ourselves to dinner at a restaurant and spend some quality one-on-one time together.  Since my mother is the coupon queen, she scours the internet for good deals for these little adventures and she came upon a $15 for $30 voucher from Local Flavor for Cask Alehouse. She purchased it thinking that it was for The Cave, another restaurant in Ventura, lol, but the descriptions of the food offerings sounded so yummy, she decided to keep it anyway.

Yesterday, we both had the day off, so I dragged my mama out to run errands with me and check out Cask Alehouse. Every single thing we ordered was absolutely delicious and my mouth is watering right now just remembering all of the great flavor combinations!

For our appetizers, we ordered the spicy, prosciutto-wrapped roasted jalapenos, stuffed with brie and topped with carmelized onions and  the huge, meaty pork short ribs slathered in house-made bbq sauce. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, served on brioche, smothered in the same bbq sauce as the ribs, and topped with cheese and carmelized onions. My mom ordered the super juicy Western burger with an extra patty, topped with crispy prosciutto, caramelized onions, hot house tomato, bbq sauce and cheddar cheese. Both sandwiches were served with Kettle brand crinkle-cut chips, which was our only criticism of the entire meal. We would have preferred homemade chips or fries, but other than that, we are now big fans and we fully intend to come back with the rest of our family.

What took this experience over the top for me was the EXCELLENT customer service. I asked our waitress to separate the meat from the bread on both meals because I am gluten intolerant and my mom and I planned to share our meals in order to sample a little bit of everything.  As you can see in the pictures below, they took the time to split everything for us and accommodate my dietary restrictions! If you haven't tried Cask Alehouse yet, you definitely need to!

Just Doordashed this place. Everything seemed fine, then my girlfriend had their French Dip's Au Jus. It smells like chemicals and tastes off. Call up the place to see if we're just missing something that's added. Manager answers, admits that it does taste off, gives lame excuse and then goes on the defensive that there is simply nothing he can do. Give lame excuses get lame experiences.

Update: Owner is claiming he offered to deliver a new item. That is a bold faced lie. Per the manager words, "we can't give you a credit or offer you a new sandwich. There is really nothing we can do but take down your name and give you a free sandwich next time you come in."

Tried the Cask Alehouse last minute!  Had a wonderful glass of Rose and a cheese and meat platter.  Was relaxing and service was very good!  Will definitely be returning.

So I had the date flatbread which I thought was pretty good. It had a super thin crust and I could tell it was freshly made. My husband got the meatball sandwich which it was pretty apparent that they were not homemade so that was disappointing. The pretzel was pretty good but man, that mustard sauce was amazing!!! Great ambiance and great selection of wine and beer to choose from!

We ordered the Napa salad, Western Burger and the Turkey melt. Every dressing is made in house, which is really nice. They do not own a microwave... So that's a plus, everything is fresh. All entrees were very good.
I wish they offered bread with either olive oil with some pesta it butter. They had none. I ordered bread on the side and the waiter brought a few slices of thin french roll bread. ( Like used with brusheta ) hard and not too great.
My overall experience was good, I would return.
